My first lacrosse tournament with True Lacrosse

My first lacrosse tournament was on the weekend of November 12th, and It was a blowout. We lost all of our games, but three of our games we lost by close margins. The first game against A team from Florida called Stealth was absolutely terrible (not that we were terrible though. Their other team was, metaphorically, a college lacrosse team.) we lost 17-0!!! It was crazy. At the start, it was sort of close, and at halftime it was 6-0, but then they took off scoring two goals in the first three minutes of the second half. It was an absolute blowout. The next game was against a team from Virginia called 460 lacrosse. It was sort of close, losing 8-5, we totally fell apart in the first five minutes, giving up three goals in the first ten minutes, but the rest of the game, we were even. Both teams I would like to mention, had phenomenal goalies, so it was really hard to score. The next game against a team from Charleston, called Charleston Elite, we lost 8-6. It was close the whole game, and then with 5 minutes left, we fell apart. It was 6-5 we were losing, but the game was not lost though. Here’s what happened: number 1 was going around x and a teammate set a pick, and he scored with a pole in his face. Somehow. They then won the face off and scored again. We then got a shot off that somehow went in, but then the game was over. In that game we faced another amazing goalie and this is how good he is: me and Grady were on a 2-0 fast break and with the ball in my stick I shot it, and he saved it, I got the rebound, passed to Grady, and then he shot: the goalie saved it, I got the rebound, I shot, and I missed again. By then the defense was back and our fast break was over. Anyway, that was the last game of the day, and tomorrow we had a game at 8:00 in the morning, and warm up at 7:30. And the tournament was an hour and a half away from my house. And the next day was a win or go home. We were playing a team from Raleigh called the Red Devils. This game we lost 5-4 in sudden death overtime. With five minutes left Charlie scored a goal to make it 4-4, and then the game ended, so it went into sudden death overtime. And then five minutes later Luke was defending the guy with the ball, didn’t have time to recover, the guy had a wide open shot, and he made it. Well I guess our tournament didn’t go to well, but at least it’s pretty cool to just go out there, and play to have fun, even if its travel lacrosse.
